Rledge to lead activities or programs that will move the needle on SCD.
Apply to join the SCD Coalition.
Donate to community -based organizations (SBOs) and healthcare organizations dedicated to improving care and quality of life for people living with SCD.
Organize a blood drive or bone marrow registry event.
Spreads the word about sickle cell and the need to take action.

AS AN INDIVIDUAL

Spread the word about SCD on social media by posting the sample messages below, sharing our YouTube videos, and using the #ConquerSCD to highlight the cause.

SICKLE CELL DISEASE COALITION

Nearly 100,000 Americans are affected by sickle cell disease (SCD), an inherited blood disorder that causes red blood cells to form into a crescent shape – like a sickle – and clump together, blocking the flow of blood and oxygen through the body. In Africa, approximately 1,000 children are born with SCD every day, and more than half will die before the age of five.
