Houston is home to the largest medical center in the nation. Despite this, individuals living with or affected by sickle cell in our community still face numerous challenges, including access to care. Furthermore, recent advancements in sickle cell research have sparked hope for potential cures, but questions remain about their accessibility and affordability for patients and caregivers.
The primary goal of our summit is to empower Houston's sickle cell community by providing education and resources on the latest treatments, potential cures, and clinical trials. By have this event in observance of World Sickle Cell Day, we aim to raise awareness and foster dialogue about the unique challenges faced by those living with sickle cell disease.
