Please join the Foundation for Women & Girls with Blood Disorders on Friday, September 26th at 1:00 PM ET for a Webinar, Women with Sickle Cell: Reproductive Health Matters, recognizing Sickle Cell Awareness Month.
Webinar Overview:
Reproductive health counseling is a critical yet often under-addressed component of comprehensive care for individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD). This webinar will equip physicians with practical strategies to navigate discussions about various aspects of reproductive health in females with SCD. We will review common menstrual complaints, safe sex practices, and family planning, including pregnancy prevention and pre-conceptual counseling considerations. Faculty will review the latest evidence on hormonal therapy and contraception, highlighting the considerations unique to SCD, and share approaches for fostering inclusive, patient-centered conversations. Participants will gain tools to support shared decision-making and improve reproductive health outcomes for individuals with SCD.
